Sparkling wine closure for burning lime & more

0.40 g of marble alabaster = Limestone CaCO3 are white heated  in the cap of a sparkling wine closure placed on its wire used as stand. After 15 Minutes the burning process is finished. The mass is halved. The new product is called quicklime. 

1. Burning lime:   CaCO3 -----> CaO + CO2           (more see below)

After cooling, drops of water are added to the quicklime. The chemical reaction releases heat. The product is called slaked lime

2. Slaking the quicklime:  CaO + H2O -----> Ca(OH)2
